Game Update 40 - September 2, 2014

All servers will be taken offline Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 5:30AM PDT, to launch Game Update 40! Downtime is expected to last about 6 hours.

Gadgets Power Revisions!
With Game Update 40, we have made improvements to Gadgets! The Gadgets power set now has new damage mechanic improvements that ensures Gadgets has the same damage potential as Weapon Mastery, combo powers (Light/Celestial/Rage), DoT Powers (Nature/Electricity), channel and cast powers (Fire), and Pet powers (Sorcery/Earth).

Gadgets users can now use a number of new mechanics centered around "Advanced Interactions" to cause superior damage output. Specific changes are outlined in the notes below.

Rare Style Vendor Update!
With Game Update 40 we have added new items (existing styles) to the Rare Style Vendor. All of these items will cost 70 Marks of Fury. The Rare Style Vendor, Vending Unit 22, is located in the player's Headquarters. Please see the notes below for a full list of items added.

Weapon Mastery Style Selection!
Players may now select appearance styles for Weapon Mastery combo weapons!

Players have always been able to choose the appearance of their primary weapon through the Style UI. With this new feature, players will also be able to choose the appearance of their Weapon Mastery combo weapons through the Style UI. When the player accesses the Style UI with a primary weapon equipped for which they have unlocked Weapon Mastery, he or she will see two additional appearance categories in the list for the two related combo weapon types.

The combinations are unique per primary weapon, meaning that Brawling into Two-Hand can be different from Shield into Two-Hand. By setting the Mastery Weapon style option, you are not setting your actual style for the primary weapon nor are they shared between the combos.

With this change, primary weapon styles will persist on logout as well.

Note: PS3 Players will be able to change their Weapon Mastery styles and see their choices; however other players will always see the Default weapons displayed. This is a PS3 only constraint.

New Mainframe Boost!
With GU40 we are adding a new Boost column to the Base Mainframe. This means new upgrades to all of our Sidekicks, Back-Up, Orbital Strikes, Supply Drops, and Tactical Mods at a price of 15625 Marks of Triumph.

Note: Boost III does not require a new Generator Cell level. It will use the same level that powers Boost II.

Prestige Messaging Improvements
Players in a League will now be able to access a Prestige Report from the control panel in their personal bases to find out how much Prestige is being generated by that base for their League. Simply select that option and view the report in the text field at the top of the menu!

Prestige is earned from decorations and amenities per base so players will have to visit each of the bases they own once per week to collect that amount. Prestige earned by mainframe upgrades, generator mods, and power level are shared by all bases and will be collected only with the first base you visit that week.

DCUO - Which Is Better Weapon Mastery Or Ability Mastery?

Which is better for DPS? Spytle the Creative Director on DCUO yesterday posted a graph with the the difference in damage between weapon mastery and ability mastery the graph and post is below.

Spytle wrote the following

I am note going to download or make available the 1gb spreadsheet with the numbers that generated this. This chart includes all powers that were revamped minus Fire.

This chart shows rage WM a bit low. That is because no one really plays it much, so the sample sizes were vastly different.

One thing to note about HL, is that they are gathering data on WM power consumption and may look to reduce it a bit in the future due to how these numbers are achieved (based on player feedback).

Leagues

·League Halls Overview

oLeague Halls are at the heart of this game update. They serve as a meeting place, trophy room, shared canvas, and source of power all rolled into one. Many of the new League features require a League Hall to access. In fact, there is no way to spend Prestige without a League Hall short of the act of creating the League Hall.

oLeague Halls are also a major location for content in DLC11, with instances taking place in your own League Hall! If no one in the group has a League Hall, you'll simply be taken to a preset League Hall.

§Creation

§League Halls may be created at consoles located in each wing of the Watchtower and Hall of Doom. Doing so requires both the "Can Spend Prestige" and "League Hall Admin" permissions.

§The first option the UI presents is Environment. While many Environments are planned for the future, the first available Environment to be released with GU39 is Lunar. Hence, all League Halls will initially be built on the Moon.

§The second option is Terrain. This represents a choice of landscape to build your League Hall in and affects your view from the Observation Room. The current options are: Sea (i.e. Mare, for you Moon buffs out there) and Crater.

§The final option is the specific location to select, given the previous selections. Each location has a Prestige cost for both the initial League Hall creation, as well as relocating the League Hall to that location.

Generators now have a new Mods Tab that allows players to install a variety of Mods that can increase their stats, or even grant new destinations to teleport to from the Teleporter Amenity!

Most Mods will be available from content drops throughout the game. The stat boosting Mods come in three different quality levels for each Tier: v.1, v.2, and v.3. The v.2 Mods may be purchased with marks from PVE Tier Vendors in the Headquarters. Mods start at Tier 3, which are usable by everyone. Tier 4 Mods and beyond have a Combat Rating requirement to purchase and use.

Players must keep their generator levels powered for Mods to remain active. Once inserted, Mods can be overwritten, but not removed.

DCUO - Healers Can Do Damage.....

I realized halfway through that i was top damage while in healer role so started recording from there this videos not to brag just to show that healers can do good damage. All this "we don't need healers in the T6 alert we need a tank, 2dps and a troll healers slow us down" well i've done the T6 alert in both healer and dps in all the different group combos. They all work well the ones with a healer might be a little slower compared to 2 dps but at least theres less deaths and healers get to play there preferred role.

Ive always been able to do good damage as a healer since i was in t3 armour i normally finish behind the dps but above trolls and tanks and thats even when everyone in the group is similar cr and sp etc

Again i don't mean this to brag just to try to show others healers are important to groups and can do amazing dps aswell especially since weapon mastery was added healers should be at the very least doing the same damage as tanks and trolls

Mario Kart 8 Review So Far

So far i'd give it a 8.5/10

single player is an 8/10
multiplayer 9/10

multiplayer is very fun as usual with the mario kart series especially with the new tournament mode i can imagine the big websites doing a tournament giveaway or rewards etc. the power up you can get are more balanced this time aswell only things i wish they would of added for online is a leaderboard using your rating and maybe a few more modes.

single player is ok but feels like the same old modes a ring out mode or something like that would of been nice its not bad its just not as fun as playing with others in the same room split screen or against others across the world

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game continues the traditional gameplay of the franchise, in which characters from the Mario universe race against each other in go-karts, attempting to hinder their opponents or improve their racing performance using various tools found in item boxes. Returning features from previous installments include motorbikes and 12-player racing from Mario Kart Wii, as well as hang gliders, underwater racing, and vehicle customization from Mario Kart 7.
