PS Store Updates! (10-09-09)

Well, it's that time of the week again when Sony adorn us with sprinkles of stuff on the PS Store. As always I'll be sharking the store for freebies- the most anticipated of which are those Dynamic Themes.

Although, as I write this I have heard that they have been having problems with the Sackboy and Motostorm themes, leaving us with the exclusive Wipeout theme.

Saying that, I have only just found out that the dynamic themes AREN'T free! Which leaves me wondering whether I would want to pay for such a small thing, when up to now I've been happy using the free ones on offer...

At least out exclusive Wipeout Dynamic Theme is free, and available to download, so I'm sure I'll be happy with that. Anyone curious why we had to wait longer for our Dynamic Themes, have a read of this article, as Sony finally responds to user feedback of the Firmware 3.0 update.

But for now, get yourselves onto the PS Store and check out these updates!

Assassins Creed 2 walkthrough video

This new footage shows off gameplay better than any trailer ever could including; the economic system, both buying items and paying mercenaries, new weapons, methods of attack, the improved eagle vision, stealthier kills. Assassins Creed 2 is looking a lot better then the first with more to do and more way to take down those targets.

Eidos Set Traps For Pirates In Arkham Asylum

Eidos has set a rather sneaky trap in Batman: Arkham Asylum in an attempt to clamp down on pirating. As one pirate recently discovered, the vital Glide ability removes itself from the game if a legitimate copy isn’t being played. A message on the official forums highlighted this problem for the previously mentioned pirate:

“Cheshirec_the_cat (The Pirate)

Hi!
I’ve got a problem when it’s time to use Batman’s glide in the game. When I hold , like it’s said to jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding. So he falls down in a poisoning gas. If somebody could tell me, what should I do there?

Keir (Eidos)

The problem you have encountered is a hook in the copy protection, to catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free.

It’s not a bug in the game’s code, it’s a bug in your moral code.”

Hopefully now people with a “bug” in their “moral code” will think twice before downloading illegal copies of a game.

Expect more games to go down this path in the future. I support this 100% why should developers lose out after all the hard work they have put in.

What 3.00 Should Of Looked Like

Don’t get me wrong 3.00 was ok but nothing special, most people think a full number update means a major update but it seems Sony don’t think the way we do. Anyway check out the video below of what 3.00 should of looked like, it truly is amazing and hope someone at Sony will see the video and be able to make it happen.
